SALMON RUN NATURE PARK BANK STABILIZATION
The repair will involve installation of natural bank armoring consisting of woody debris structures along the toe of the damaged left bank. The woody debris structures will consist of either Western Red Cedar or Douglas Fir. The pieces will be 16"-24" diameter interlocking vertical and horizontal wood logs pinned together along with one to two-man rock placed behind the log structures. Approximately 5 woody debris clusters will be installed for a total of approximately 18 vertical logs, 5 horizontal logs and 10 transverse logs placed at random angles extending out from the toe of the bank. Post construction restoration will consist of re-establishing native plantings and portions of the existing trail damaged by construction equipment accessing the side channel bank from 5th Ave NW. Construction is scheduled for summer 2021.
