A proposed new stormwater bypass system includes a new inlet structure in the CKC West ditch that will route drainage from 40.3 acres of the total 57.8 acres, which currently flows to the Comfort Inn Pond. From this new structure in the CKC West ditch, an approximately 35-foot-long, 24-inch-diameter pipe will cross the CKC Trail to a new structure (flow splitter) in the CKC East ditch located south of NE 124th Street. All flow from the CKC West ditch will be routed into the bypass system. The flow from 15.2 acre CKC East ditch drainage area will enter the flow splitter. This flow splitter will maintain low flow in the open channel that is located downstream (which is considered a fish-bearing stream by WDFW). The high flow will be routed to the new stormwater bypass pipe, which will help reduce flooding on 124th Avenue NE and reduce the excessive flow that has led to incision and bank erosion of the downstream channel. From the new structure (flow splitter) in the CKC East ditch, the new stormwater bypass pipe system will include an approximately 400-foot-long, 36-inch-diameter pipe across NE 124th Street that continues north across Totem Lake Boulevard before discharging into an upland corner of Totem Lake Park using a stilling well outlet structure with an elongated rock pad to dissipate the flow into the park area. A (Any Project Type Critical Areas) project installing (Gross floor area of new nonresidential; Number of proposed new residential units; Property size in square feet; Date preapplication meeting was held.).
