LU presub 9.24.24 @ 2:00pm - Microsoft Teams: The project includes maintenance activities at the existing Houghton Closed Landfill site as shown on the attached plan set. This includes the following: Regrade 1,159 linear feet in two existing ditches that are currently lined with a geomembrane and quarry spalls but have become overgrown with vegetation and partially filled with sediment. Existing quarry spalls in the ditches will be removed and stockpiled while the ditches are graded to provide a uniform slope. A geomembrane will be replaced in one segment of a ditch. Upon grading completion, the previously stockpiled quarry spalls will be reinstalled into the ditches. Construct two 10-foot-wide drainage swales, 15 feet across the existing road to improve drainage. The road will be depressed to allow 12 inches of quarry spalls to be placed over the road. Replace 73 existing vaults with slightly larger vaults (1 foot on all sides) and lids. Replumb all replaced vaults. Minor grading over the existing roads will occur to restore a smooth surface. Two inches of crushed top course will be added to road areas. 2,045 cubic yards of fill will be added to the top-center of the landfill where settling has occurred. A maximum of 2 feet of fill with 4 inches of topsoil will be added to improve drainage flow over the top of the landfill. The exposed soils will be hydroseeded. Refuse and downed trees will be removed. Remove 2 dead trees. Clear area around 8 culverts and 1 catch basin.
