Description

Wireless Communication Facility
I am inquiring about the permitting process for making modification to and potentially expanding the equipment area of an existing wireless communication facility on a utility pole located across from 704 East Lake Sammamish Parkway. I’ve included a shot from Google below for reference. While researching the code, specifically 21A.55.040 Permit required, I am a little unsure of which category/type of permit will be required for the below scope of work. Assuming there will be no increase in height or substantial change to the utility pole, my main inquiry is relating to ground equipment. Currently, it’s vaulted underground next to the utility pole. This is a Sprint site that T-Mobile will be integrating into their network. T-Mobile will need additional room for their equipment. Therefore, what would the zoning/permitting process be for expanding the underground vault area so that additional equipment cabinets can be housed? Alternatively, if during the design process T-Mobile determines expanding the vault is not a technically feasible option for them, what would the zoning/permitting process be for placing an above ground equipment area to supplement the vault area? I should note this is all very preliminary but T-Mobile must have some idea regarding process, etc. Thank you for your time and help. Please feel free to ask any questions that may help you determine processes.
