E23-45455, Maywood Hills ES Modernization, Modernization of Existing School - Maywood Hills Elementary School was originally constructed in 1960. The updates and modernization is designed to accommodate a total of 825 students. Current enrollment is approximately 532 students and the current capacity is 891 students. The proposed new building is proposed to be approximately 22,300 square feet with approximately 5,700 square feet of renovation of existing buildings. The existing two double portable classrooms and six single portable classrooms would be removed from the site or demolished. In addition, the existing play shed would be demolished. The site and existing building would not be vacated during construction and demolition. The new building would provide instructional support spaces, multi-purpose rooms, commons and music rooms. In addition, the building will have mechanical and electrical rooms and a kitchen. There are 56 proposed parking spaces, which exceeds the code required minimum of 50 stalls. In addition, 11 short-term parking spaces are proposed. A reconfigured access, bus loop and parking is also proposed.
