FILBURN- Conversion of existing daylight basement into attached ADU. Only structural change will be the removal of existing stairway from main floor to basement and adding joists where the stairway was removed. Also will include: 1) removal of non-load-bearing wall and replacement of ceiling in main floor where stairway is currently located; 2) addition of non-load-bearing wall in ADU to create a room separation; 3) installation of kitchen cabinetry and appliances in ADU (will utilize existing water supply and drain for kitchen sink); 4) installation of new separate heating systems for ADU and main floor, also removal of existing gas furnace and some ductwork; 5) creating shared exterior access to existing water shutoff valve; 6) separation of water supply and addition of new water heater for main floor (if required); 7) installation of separate electrical panels to serve separated wiring for the two units, and some minor relocation or addition of outlets; 8) replacement of sliding door in basement with code-compliant swinging door.
