Significant erosion and sedimentation issues in North-central Sammamish Subbasin are negatively impacting the intended function of the storm drainage system owned by Bellevue. Stormwater from approximately 10 ac of the single-family residential neighborhood west of the study area discharges to the tributary ditch (contained within a steep ravine) via an 18-in diameter perched CMP pipe outfall. The ditch then discharges into the Main Channel within the central portion of the study area. The Main Channel continues to the southeast, enters a sediment pond, and is conveyed to the stormwater system along West Lake Sammamish Pkwy through a 30-in diameter CMP storm drainpipe, owned by Bellevue. An overflow channel downstream of the last sediment pond routes any remaining flow into Bellevue's drainage system. The main source of sediment that enters the system is the stormwater ditch which is deeply incised and highly-erodible. The goal of the project is to reduce erosion in the ditch by connecting the existing 18-in CMP outfall at the upstream end of the channel to the existing stormdrain network that runs beneath and along the Main Channel. The project will add approximately 520 linear feet of 12-in diameter HDPE pipe, which will be laid on top of imported fill and connect directly into the storm network, bypassing the highly erodible ditch and reducing sediment from entering the storm network., 24 120151 LO 25 102189 GB
