This project replaces plants and trees primarily in the on-structure planters, but in small on grade areas at private residences and replacing some areas of planting in the ROW that has died. The Katsura trees that had been originally installed have outgrown the planters and the original on-structural soil had settled approximately 8" -12" in some of the planters with the larger trees. Because the trees are over-sized it has become very changeling for the management team to keep the trees irrigated and healthy during the summer and roots of the trees are exposed at the top of the planters. The landscape contractor will remove the trees shrubs and ground covers as notes in the plans, They will need to top up the planters with soil and mulch and install the new planting as designed.
