Removal of an approx. 40' tall cedar tree that has grown and damaged a city stormwater outfall pipe that drains Crescent Key in the Newport Shores neighborhood. the pipe is in an easement over private property. The tree sits on top of the pipe discharge, approximately 10' from the Newport Shores channel/Lake Washington edge. Stability and health of tree will be compromised from the work and removal has been determined to be the best course of action. Relocation of the storm outfall pipe was considered to avoid tree damage, however it was determine to be unfeasible. Removal of the tree will be mitigated by planting of a replacement tree. The tree location will be determined by the homeowner. The homeowner is aware of the work and has granted permission to remove the tree.
