The Safeway campus in Bellevue Washington is a 21-acre site comprised of an Ice Cream Plant a Milk Plant and a Beverage Manufacturing Warehouse. There are two entrances to the site one from 124th Avenue NE for Trucks and one from 120th Avenue NE for Employees.Repaving - In the northeast corner of the site adjacent to the Milk Plant a portion of existing paving in an area of heavy truck movements has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. The new pavement replacement is approximately thirty three thousand five hundred square feet. Some repaving is necessary near the northeast area of the existing beverage manufacturing warehouse to remedy ponding issues in the pedestrian walkway. Security Enhancements-The existing employee only entrance off 120th Avenue NE consists of a sliding gate which requires keycard access. The current configuration of the entrance gate offers the potential for multiple vehicles to tailgate and enter and exit the employee parking lot untracked. Safeway proposes to alleviate the security vulnerability at the employee lot entrance off 120th Avenue NE by providing a dual-gate system for both inbound and outbound traffic. Each vehicle will go through an initial barrier gate arm before going through the existing rolling gate both requiring keycard access to prevent multiple vehicles from gaining access with one keycard.
